We are a cat friendly clinic

Right from the start, our clinic has been designed to cater for cats’ special needs.
In 2020, out of all the hundreds of veterinary clinics for small animals in Finland, we were awarded the country’s seventh “Cat Friendly Clinic” silver certificate.

We have a large, peaceful waiting room reserved specifically for our cat patients. Cats don’t like to be at floor level, and at our clinic, you can keep your cat box on the bench or put it on one of the shelves reserved for this purpose. If needed, you can take along a towel or some other piece of cloth to cover the box if your cat gets easily stressed in strange, new places or with new people and animals.

When treating cats, we follow the Cat Friendly guidelines of the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISMF). The easiest way to handle and treat a cat is by working on the cat’s terms, in an unhurried way while soothing it.

The cats in our day hospital are kept in their own spaces where they cannot, for example, make eye contact with another cat. We have litter trays and food (according to the situation) for cats, and we monitor their condition regularly.
